Xiqing wraps up new year tourism activities

During the 2026 New Year holiday, Xiqing district, Tianjin, organized nearly 20 special cultural and tourism activities across scenic spots, key rural tourism villages, and commercial complexes, offering a vibrant holiday experience and sustaining strong market momentum.

The new year countdown event in Yangliuqing ancient town featured a spectacular light show, a drone performance, and a number of cultural shows. The town offered various flash mobs, an immersive stage play, intangible cultural heritage displays, creative markets, and food stalls.

Over the course of three days, activities focused on folk games, local cuisine, and New Year paintings, with 13 performance spots hosting 50 daily shows, including dance, acrobatics, and crosstalk. A large-scale animation sitcom also debuted, showcasing the town's traditional and modern charm.

The Tianjin International Lantern Festival at Tianjin Shuixi Park displayed nearly 100 sets of lanterns combining cultural and technological elements, alongside food markets and drone shows.

Huo Yuanjia Memorial Hall offerd martial arts experiences, while Caozhuang Flower Market experienced peak sales of festive flowers. Xiqing Country Park and Yangliuqing Yuanbao Island offered winter snow and ice attractions.

Commercial venues also held a variety of New Year music festivals and market fairs, boosting holiday consumption.
