The performance at the Tianjin intangible cultural heritage promotion event in Xiqing district
The 6th Tianjin "Canal Memory" intangible cultural heritage promotion and display is taking place in Yangliuqing Ancient Town, in the city's Xiqing district.
At the launch, Li Zhuo, deputy director of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, said that the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Tianjin is gradually improving, with various intangible cultural heritage promotion events becoming increasingly active and playing an increasingly important role in enhancing cultural soft power.
Li said Tianjin will continue to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of outstanding traditional Chinese culture, explore the cultural heritage of the Grand Canal, and make continuous efforts to build the Tianjin cultural brand, allowing the brilliant intangible cultural heritage that carries the national memory to shine brightly in the present.
At the event, the works of various heritage inheritors in Tianjin have been showcased. Xinhua Group signed agreements with five intangible heritage projects to jointly promote Tianjin's intangible heritage for external exchanges and market expansion.
The event, running until June 29, features exhibitions, seminars, interactive experiences, and themed performances. It will comprehensively present the profound cultural heritage nurtured by the millennia-old Grand Canal, showcasing the fruitful results of intangible heritage protection across eight provinces and municipalities along the Grand Canal, elevating the integration of culture, commerce, and tourism to a new level, as well as injecting strong cultural vitality into the revitalized development of Yangliuqing Ancient Town.
