Diliubu village located in Xinkou town, Tianjin's Xiqing district, has thrived in cultivating selenium-rich vegetables, a cornerstone of its rural revitalization efforts and increasing villagers' income.

With its strategic access to abundant water resources and unique geographical advantages, Diliubu village has garnered prestigious accolades including the titles of "Tianjin Vegetable Basket Base" and "Top Vegetable Village in Beijing and Tianjin".

The village has a vegetable planting area of over 6,000 mu and a total of 3,017 greenhouses. The variety of vegetables grown there is extensive, including the widespread cultivation of Tianjin Shawo radishes, a rich supply of leafy vegetables such as celery, Chinese cabbage, and baby bok choy, as well as high-demand vegetables such as lettuce, oilseed rape, and cabbage.

To further develop its selenium-rich vegetable industry, the village has established the "Liubu" vegetable brand and launched the "Liubu Vegetable Unified Sales" platform, broadening sales channels and enhancing brand influence.

According to Ni Guozhi, the village head, the village has actively engaged in cooperative partnerships with urban residential communities this year. By focusing on creating a sales model that delivers products directly from the fields to residents' doorsteps, vegetables picked in the morning can be delivered to urban residents in a couple of hours.

Additionally, the village has dedicated personnel conducting quality inspections on the vegetables to guarantee they are green and pollution-free.

Research and development of new varieties have also been conducted in the village by collaborating with institutions such as the Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Nankai University.
