The World Shuttlecock Championships are the world's most prestigious event for the sport.
This year, it had seven competition categories: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, men's triples, women's triples, and mixed doubles. Over 260 athletes from 10 countries and regions, including China, Vietnam and Germany, are competing in the tournament.
Shuttlecock is a traditional folk sport of China. In Tianjin, shuttlecock sports have a long history and a strong base. This sport has transcended age boundaries, becoming a common language that connects different generations and brings health and joy.
During the opening ceremony of the competition, students from Tianjin Huo Yuanjia Civil and Military School presented exquisite martial arts performances, showing the unique charm and cultural heritage of traditional Chinese sports to the world.
