During the May Day holiday, Xiqing district received a total of 1.29 million tourists, with comprehensive revenue of 150 million yuan (about $22 million).
With the upgrading of its local cultural tourism resources, camping, night markets and water sports have become new engines for Xiqing's tourism industry.
Coordinating nearly 50 scenic spots, over 20 large-scale commercial complexes, and 200 sports venues in the region, Xiqing launched 46 activities with four major themes including urban leisure, folk culture, parent-child studying, and outdoor fitness.

Additionally, Xiqing has integrated its traditional culture with modern technology to launch a historical image exhibition and folk performances, which provide immersive experiences to visitors and enable people to learn more about local intangible cultural heritage.

Furthermore, taking advantage of the first camping carnival in Xiqing district, 13 camping sites in the region received more than 106,200 tourists over the holiday, achieving an income of 2.25 million yuan.
