The cauliflower has long been one of the most popular vegetables of Chinese people. After 30 years of cultivation, many well-known varieties of cauliflower have been developed domestically, breaking the foreign monopoly on this vegetable.

"In the past, the planting area of domestic cauliflowers in our country was very small, and the varieties were also very mixed. More than 90% of hybrid seeds depended on imports, and the import channels were monopolized by foreign companies. Therefore, the prices were very expensive. After more than 30 years of efforts by our breeding personnel, we have now developed some domestically produced varieties with our own intellectual property rights," said Li Bing, breeding specialist of the Breeding Research and Development Department of Tianjin Hui’erjia Seeds Industry Technology Co., Ltd.
