Achievements in major sectors have been made since the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development initiative was announced nine years ago, the Tianjin government said on Friday.
Tianjin, North China’s coastal metropolis, has made progress in industry and innovation cooperation, urban management, transportation and environmental protection, together with neighboring Beijing and Hebei province.
By actively supporting Beijing’s industrial shift, Tianin has welcomed high-tech companies, such as the CNOOC, Sinopec, and 360 Technology to Tianjin's Binhai-Zhongguancun and Baodi-Zhongguancun industrial parks.
The Beijing-Tangshan intercity rail and northern section of the Beijing-Harbin intercity rail both began operation in late December. In 2022, the container throughput of Tianjin Port exceeded 21 million TEUs, serving the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The Tianjin Science and Technology Achievement Exhibition and Trading Center has developed 143 technology transfer institutions, released 8,487 Beijing-Hebei enterprise achievements, and brought together 3,836 experts from the Beijing-Hebei region.
Cooperation in the prevention and control of air pollution has been deepened, and the average concentration of PM2.5 in the city has dropped from 96 micrograms per cubic meter in 2013, to 37 micrograms per cubic meter last year.
In 2023, the development agenda will actively promote cooperation in the key fields of information technology, biomedicine, the digital economy and shipping services.
