On Jan 14, the 2nd Ecological Liubu · Winter Fishing Festival was held in Xinkou town. At the event, villagers and tourists jointly experienced and enjoyed winter fishing.
Diliubu village in Xinkou town is located at the intersection of the Ziya River, Daqing River and Duliujian River. Relying on the water and natural resources of the scenic area, the village has been promoting the development of rural cultural tourism with its local Grand Canal culture. It will take the winter fishing festival as an opportunity to fully display the charm of its century-old fishing culture and further promote the aquatic traveling route project from Diliubu village to Yangliuqing, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of the project of building an ever-bright village in 2023 and supporting local rural revitalization.

This year's winter fishing festival has adopted the traditional artificial fishing method. The heaviest fish caught by net in the first round of fishing is called the "fish king", and its auction is the highlight of the festival, as the auction activity is the traditional method by which villagers can achieve good luck in the coming year.

On site, educational activities on releasing fry fish were also carried out. Children from Diliubu village released fry fish together, which not only helped to enrich the local fish resources, but also promoted the construction of ecological civilization.
The winter fishing festival will last 23 days from Jan 14 to Feb 5, 2023, encouraging tourists to enjoy their time in the countryside and extending them the best wishes for the upcoming year.
