In order to educate elderly people about Alzheimer's Disease (AD), reduce the frequency of them going missing and show they are cared for, the volunteer service association of Xiqing district -- together with Yangliuqing social affair station and Ningde community construction center -- carried out the "yellow bracelet action" volunteer service. This was implemented in Ningfuyuan community, Yangliuqing town where they issue special yellow bracelets to old people who are registered.

Each of the special yellow bracelet contains an information card and a QR code. It has the name and the emergency contact information of the elderly. When people go missing or encounter sudden illness, accidents or other emergencies, people can easily get in touch with the families and get help.
The volunteers tell the elderly how to use the bracelet. For those who are disabled and cannot come to the activity site, the volunteers go to their homes to help them with the bracelets.
The "yellow bracelet action" is society's way of taking care of seniors as well as creating an elderly-friendly community.
