Recently, the trial operation of a catering service in Youpeng elderly canteen in Jinmenhu community started. The realization of a food distribution business has further upgraded the elderly canteen service, and the elderly care network has been strengthened. The catering service of the canteen enables the elderly in the community to have warm and economical food.
Jinmenhu community has been preparing for the construction of an elderly canteen in Jinmenhu Street, Xiqing district. Through investigation and research, it will cater to the needs of the elderly in the area with a high-quality service, integrating surrounding social resources. The Youpeng elderly canteen aims to provide a personalized food delivery service, so that elderly people with mobility difficulties can enjoy meals without leaving their homes.

As the 181 elderly households that need catering are scattered, the street has designed many schemes, and decided to adopt the mode of “self-distribution of elderly canteens + assistance of property management service enterprises”. According to the residential location and needs of the 181 registered elderly people, the street has connected with 13 property management service enterprises on the street, and set up 24 food pickup sites. The elderly can go to the nearest site by themselves for contactless meal collection, while the elderly who have mobility issues will have meals delivered to their homes.
Jinmenhu community will continuously strengthen the construction of its elderly care service system, build a brand of elderly care services, and improve the quality of the services, so as to improve the living standards of elderly people in the area.
