In order to ramp up the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and build Tianjin South Railway Station into a model of integrated development, a meeting was held on Aug 24 in Xiqing.

The following leaders of the region attended the meeting: Li Qing, secretary of the CPC Xiqing Committee; Yin Xuewu, deputy secretary of the CPC Xiqing Committee and the head of Xiqing; Wang Zhiping, chairman of the Standing Committee of Xiqing People's Congress; Yu Qiang, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Xiqing.
It was pointed out in the meeting that the Tianjin South Railway Station Technology Business District shoulders the important task of driving regional economic development and assisting industrial upgrading. It is important for Tianjin to build an "international consumption center city" and a "regional business center".
The construction of the business district should adhere to the principles of vigorous development and high quality planning. It should become a modern area ideal for living and working.

Several shortlisted teams reported their phased achievements, and introduced the overall plan of the railway station, the framework of the scheme and the design. Leaders of the region and experts put forward their opinions and suggestions. Next, Xiqing will work with the design teams to proceed with the work ahead.
