On July 30, Xiqing held the opening ceremony of the phase I project of Yangliuqing Grand Canal National Cultural Park. Yin Xuewu, deputy secretary of the CPC Xiqing District Committee and the head of Xiqing, delivered the speech during the ceremony.

The Yangliuqing section of the Grand Canal has a profound history and rich cultural heritage. The millennium old town Yangliuqing was born and prospered because of the canal. The Yangliuqing Grand Canal National Cultural Park project is the specific action of Xiqing to practise the new development concept, dig the resource potential and carry forward the excellent traditional culture, consisting of landscape engineering and supporting works.

In accordance with the work requirements proposed by the CPC Tianjin Committee and the development directions of the Grand Canal, Xiqing strives to build the park as a national landmark project that shows the historical features of the Grand Canal and highlights the cultural value of Jingu. Meanwhile, this project will be a new start for Xiqing to promote the expansion of the new site of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and Tianjin Conservatory of Music, and other canal cultural projects.
